Longtime Sedona resident Warren Roy Anderson passed away on August 17, 2025, surrounded by his children. Warren was born in Fayetteville, AK, to Warren Roy, Sr., and Marian Ford Anderson. After World War II, his family moved to Southern California, where they established Anderson Moving and Storage and later Anderson Arabians. The family participated in horse shows, and Warren rode for many years in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade.
Warren graduated from Covina High School in 1960 and continued his studies at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. There, he formed several lifelong friendships and earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.
In March 1965, Warren married his best friend and lifelong partner, Martha Ann Lehnhard. While living in West Covina, the couple purchased land in Sedona, a place they cherished and where they hoped to raise their family.
In 1981, Warren, Ann, and their children moved to Sedona full-time and opened Anderson Auto and Truck Repair. They ran the business with their son for nearly 40 years, until Ann’s passing in 2017, and their son continues to operate it today. Warren’s service to his customers is reflected in the many notes of appreciation received from them over the years.
Warren had a deep love for his family, his 1955 Chrysler 300, and his horses. Above all, Ann was his world. During their fifty-two years of marriage, Warren and Ann shared nearly every day together, enjoying the company of their many pets, horses, and frequent family camping trips.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Ann, and several lifelong friends. He is survived by his son, Michael, of Sedona, and daughter Karyn Crawford (David) of Poulsbo, Washington, as well as three grandchildren: Karlyne, Anderson, and Kristen Crawford.
Warren’s life will be celebrated with an open house luncheon at Red Rock State Park from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
