In Loving Memory of Dr. Tracy Elise, DAHS December 20, 1960 – November 17, 2025
Born Tracy Elise Johnson in Pullman, Washington, Dr. Tracy Elise died on November 17, 2025, after a courageous journey with glioblastoma in Cottonwood, Arizona. She lived as a seeker, teacher, mother, mystic, and courageous social pioneer and was the eldest of four daughters, born to Carl Dean and Judi Broyles Johnson. Tracy's early years in Fairbanks, Alaska were shaped by frontier resilience, faith-centered community, the world of theater, and a deep curiosity about human connection, healing, and the sacred.
From an early age, Tracy moved through life not just with ambition but with purpose. She graduated from West Valley High School in Fairbanks in 1978 and then explored a traditional education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Later, she pursued esoteric studies in Seattle, and earned an Honorary Doctorate from the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco, California. Though she would later be named priestess, healer, and “Mystic Mother,” Tracy described her truest education simply as Life.
Before becoming a public spiritual leader, she built businesses, taught children’s musical theatre, fed Alaskan communities through her catering company (The Works), and volunteered extensively in schools and churches. Her life would later take a dramatic spiritual turn following profound encounters with feminist and metaphysical teachings in the 1990s, leading her to define what she called “female-led sacred healing through the body-temple".
In the late 1990s, she followed a spiritual calling that led her to Seattle, Washington and later to Arizona, where she founded spiritual communities focused on empowerment, healing, and personal truth.
Her work integrated energy healing, tantra-informed teachings, magnetic touch, light-body science, and ancient feminine-centered spiritual frameworks. She positioned her ministry as a modern revival of global goddess temples, emphasizing that women’s bodies are not only sacred but inherently healing.
In 2016, she faced a profound challenge when her spiritual work became the subject of a painful legal battle. She refused to renounce her beliefs, choosing integrity over convenience. Though her stance led to years of hardship, incarceration, and supervision, she persisted with resilience and dignity. Through it all, she held fiercely to her truth, her faith, and her sense of purpose.
Her story has since been covered by national and international news sites, and she viewed her life not as a scandal, but as evidence that the world has not yet learned how to honor the sacred feminine without fear.
Tracy will be remembered for her creativity, conviction, generosity, and unwavering commitment to authenticity. She is lovingly survived by her three children — Benjamin Wade (Krista Baker), Sylvia Wade (Chrys Theriault), and Daniel Wade (John Wilton Arnsdorf); her grandchildren, Wynston and Wayland Theriault; her mother, Judi Johnson; and her sisters, Abbie Johnson (John Myers), Carla Johnson, and Shelly Chamberlin (Christopher Chamberlin). She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Dean Johnson (d. 2006).
Dr. Tracy Elise lived not quietly, but on purpose — burning with conviction, creativity, and a willingness to stand where others feared to look. She challenged systems older than herself, loved with a wide-open heart, and believed that healing is not forbidden — it is inevitable. May those who tell her story do so with nuance, courage, and curiosity.
May those she touched remember her not only for what happened, but for what she believed was possible. She is loved beyond measure, and her work continues through every voice still willing to ask: “What if the divine is not only above us — but within us?” A memorial celebration will be held in Sedona, Arizona on Friday, May 1, 2026, with details to be announced by the family.
