Steven Shane Bennett, 62, of Camp Verde Arizona passed away in his home, August 18,2024. He was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on June 13, 1962.
Shane left Colorado out of high school to work in several different places drilling water wells. Elko, Nevada became home for several years and then on to Phoenix, AZ then Mayor AZ. Shane spent the last decade of his life in Camp Verde AZ where his mother and several siblings lived as well. Shane will forever be remembered for his very strong work ethic and even more for his joy of pulling pranks. He was an animal lover and had several very loved pets throughout his life. Bart and Bugsy were two of his very favorite. He was a loyal Denver Broncos fan. His dedicated team support lead to many humorous situations including him having to wear a cheerleading skirt due to a bet that he did not win. He was a huge fan of Ford, particularly the mustang and if you knew Shane you probably heard of an adventure or two that involved driving at a high rate of speed in order to avoid consequences that were definitely not favorable. His smile was the most genuine I've ever known and will be missed by all.
Shane was preceded in death by his parents Jack Bennett, Herman and Florence Roundtree; Brother, Andy Bennett and the love of his life, Cathy Davis. He is survived by siblings Lane and Jack Bennett, Vlosta McCauley and Rebecca Roundtree. Children Travis, Jody and Jolene Bennett. Grandchildren Blaine, Sadie, Brandon and Jayden and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Shane on October 19th, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the community center in Redvale, Colorado. Lunch will be provided. You are invited to bring your favorite side dish, if you wish.
