Sherry DeVillier Obituary

Sherry Kent DeVillier has gone to the ride all the horses in heaven. She was diagnosed with stage four metastatic brain cancer in April. She fought a good fight. She was born Sherry Lee Kent in San Diego, California to Walter and Betty Dickinson Kent on September 18, 1944 and passed about December 18, 2022.  She was the oldest of four kids.  Her brothers all still living; Norman (Charlu), Charles & Daniel Kent. Sherry is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Betty Dickinson Kent. Sherry was 78 years old and competed to the end as a reserve 50 & over champion in 2021-2022 Central Verde Gymkhana Association. She was a gifted equestrian and has accolades in various equine fields. She loved to compete, learn and teach anything regarding a horse.  She shared that passion over the years with many students, friends and family.  She was an artist and a seamstress but always preferred being outside.  All the many aspects of her life could never be summed up in a few short paragraphs.  She will be greatly missed by her many friends, family and beloved animals.  She had come to a place of peace and had Jesus in her heart.

We thank everyone who walked or helped us on this journey. Your help, words, prayers and love are much appreciated. She is survived by her children, Travis (Margie) Kent Flagstaff, AZ, Logan Seeberger Showlow, Az, Johnnie (Bryan) Boyd Turpin, Ok. Sherry has four beautiful grandchildren, Jessica (Jessi), Bailey, Cole and Tatum. She has numerous students that became family over the years, too many to name. We want to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and love. At Sherry’s request, there will be a small memorial with immediate family.  In her memory she would have loved friends and loved ones to remember her as they ride with the wind in their face.  If you would like to make a donation in Sherry’s name you may do so at Venmo; Margaret Kent @ SherryStrong. All proceeds will go to closing of the estate and caring for her four-legged babies.
