In Loving Memory of Sally Zamora Anzar
September 16, 1941 - April 10, 2026 with hearts full of love and gratitude for a beautifully lived life, we celebrate the homegoing of Sally Zamora Anzar, who was ushered by the angels into the presence of our Heavenly Father on April 10, 2026.
Sally was born on September 16, 1941, in Phoenix, Arizona, where her journey began —a journey marked by unwavering faith, enduring love, and remarkable strength. At just 16 years old, she married the one and only love of her life, Felix T. Anzar, with whom she built a legacy rooted in devotion, resilience, and family.
A woman of both tenderness and strength, Sally was a devoted mother who lovingly raised five children of her own and opened her heart and home to three adopted children. She was a guiding light to her family—a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose love knew no bounds. Her presence was both comforting and steadfast, and her wisdom will continue to echo through generations.
Affectionately known as the "tamale lady," Sally shared her love through her cooking, leaving behind a cherished legacy of the best tamales ever—made not only with skill, but with heart. In her younger years, she found joy in sewing, cooking, and creating a warm and beautiful home for her family, a reflection of the love she carried within her.
Sally's life was deeply rooted in faith. She loved the Lord with steadfast devotion. Her faith gave her strength, and her love gave others comfort.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, David and Concha Zamora; her devoted husband, Felix T. Anzar; her daughter, Kathy A. Montoya; her granddaughter, Suhaine Nicole Valdez; and her grandson, Frank Felix Alejandro Valdez. She is lovingly remembered by her children and spouses: Laura Valdez/Frank Valdez, Felix Anzar Jr./Leslie Anzar, Alexander Anzar/Cherie Anzar, and Sally M. Anzar/ Fermin De Santiago-Najera; her adopted children: Carissa Anzar, Antonio Anzar, and Diamante Anzar; along with a large and loving family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Though Sally is no longer with us in body, we rejoice in knowing she is at peace, reunited with loved ones, and resting in the presence of the Lord she so faithfully served. Her love remains with us, her lessons guide us, and her memory will forever be in our hearts.
"Well done, good and faithful servant."
