ROBERT WAYNE FOLZ
September 6, 1940 - October 22, 2023
Robert Wayne Folz (aka Bob, Bobby), 83, of Camp Verde, Arizona left his earthly body on October 22, 2023.
Bob was born in Alton, Illinois to John and Mildred Folz on September 6, 1940. Shortly after his birth, Bob moved with parents and sister Susan, brothers, Jerry and Dave to Phoenix, Arizona where they would start a new life in 1941. Bob’s parents managed a small trailer park on Central Avenue in Phoenix right next to the canal while Bob was growing up. Bob attended St. Agnes Catholic School, Xavier Catholic School for his elementary years and graduated from Camelback High School.
Bob married the love of his life, Linda Folz (née Stout) on November 12, 1960, and they started their little family in Phoenix, AZ.
Bob dabbled in many professions while living in Phoenix, most notably a long stint at Canon Electric and loved working at his best friend from high school's architecture firm. Bob never attended college but got by on his silly humor and hard work ethic. Shortly after leaving the architecture firm, Bob moved his family for a brief period to Payson, AZ and then permanently to Camp Verde, AZ where he and Linda built their home from the ground up with their own two hands.
His hobbies included welding art (self-taught), painting, drawing, and playing Solitaire. His love for cashews was like no other.
Bob loved his grandchildren most and was so proud of how his kids had raised them to be good people.
Bob is survived by his children, Darrell Folz (Susan) of Waddell, AZ, Jeff Folz of Las Vegas, NV, Robyn Folz of Rimrock, AZ, and Bryan Folz of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Matthew McDowell (Brienne) of Williams, AZ, Christopher Folz of Fort Collins, CO, Tiffany Folz of Glendale, AZ, Dennis Folz of Phoenix, AZ, Logan (Leah) Folz of Peoria, AZ; and 3 great-grandchildren, Paxton, Brecken and Lucas.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his parents, John and Mildred; sister, Susan; and granddaughter, Heather McDowell.
He leaves behind a family that will remember his silly jokes, kind laughter and the biggest heart. Daddy, you will be missed so much.
No services were held, a small get together of family will be scatting his ashes per his request.
