Robert L Burkhalter

Robert L. Burkhalter, age 82, of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away at home on Thursday, October 26, 2023.

Bob was born on April 11, 1941, in Primrose Township, WI; the eldest son of Lloyd and Helen (Heimann) Burkhalter.  Bob grew up in the Arena area and worked for many years as an independent painter in Wisconsin and Arizona.  He was the owner of Burkhalter Painting.  He was married on June 27, 1975, to Betty Hepp. Bob and Betty moved from Wisconsin to Arizona in 1996 and lived in Tempe, Mayer and finally in Cottonwood.

Bob enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, boating, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling.  He was an avid race car driver in his younger years and was well-known for his abilities to work on cars and trucks for friends and neighbors.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Burkhalter of Cottonwood, AZ; his son, Donald (Lisa) Burkhalter of Lone Rock, WI; his step-daughter, Lisa (David) Krueger of Appleton, WI; three siblings, Dave (Lori) Burkhalter of Wisconsin Dells, WI; Deb (Tom) Ahrens of Appleton, WI; Tim Burkhalter of Mazomanie, WI; a sister-in-law, Becky Burkhalter of Bruceton, TN; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; many nieces, nephew, and other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Helen Burkhalter; sisters, Linda Rhodes and Tammy Burkhalter; brothers, Jack Burkhalter and Tom Burkhalter; sons, Rocky Burkhalter and Rob Burkhalter; and three grandchildren.
