Richard was born on August 22, 1945, in Barberton, Ohio. Richard had a thirst for knowledge, challenges and travel that took him to Vietnam as well as throughout Europe and Russia. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the U.S. Army for 6 years and was awarded 2 Bronze Stars. Richard served as a senior level operations officer for the CIA for 25 years.
He married his soulmate and love of his life Michele on July 28,1983, in Fairfax, Virginia and they started their life of adventure together. They resided in eight different foreign countries and northern Virginia before moving to Cottonwood in 2004. Richard spent his remaining years managing an international investigation firm that specialized in tracing purloined monies and locating criminals.
One of his greatest passions was rescuing animals of all sizes. He had a quick mind, bright smile, wonderful sense of humor and will be sorely missed by everyone he encountered.
