Richard Henry Curtis, 83, of Camp Verde, Arizona, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on September 17, 1940. He was the youngest of 3 children born to Frank and Viola Curtis. Richard met and married his wife Birdie in 1965. They were married for 44 wonderful years before her passing. In 1970, the family moved to Texas for a short while before settling in Phoenix Arizona in 1972. After retiring from the City of Phoenix in 1997, he and his family moved to Camp Verde.
Richard loved bowling, dancing, roller skating and traveling. He was involved in Boys scouts his whole life, starting as a cub all the way to a eagle scout and a scout master of many. Richard loved to socialize and help others. He was always fashionably late, due to being easily distracted by yard sale signs. He found many treasures. Richard was a devoted LDS member and volunteered his time at the local food bank.
Richard is survived by his two daughters, JoAnn and Sandra; his son, Kent; his favorite son-in-law, Richard and four granddaughters, Jennifer, Naiomi, Geneva and Ashley; Five great- granddaughters and five great-grandsons. But wait there's more he had three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Camp Verde (360 S 5th St.). Viewing will be at 10am fallowed by the Funeral Service at 11am.
