Pete Arreola passed away in his sleep at his home on 12/08/2022. He
leaves behind four children, Lila McLean, Phil Arreola (Maya Rizk), Andy
Arreola, and Marilee Farrell (Marty), as well as a grandson, Tyrone
McLean. His surviving family includes Lenore Ambrozaitis (John),
Lourdes Cooney (Michael), Daniel Arreola (Luz), Lydia Roe (Steven), Louis
Arreola, David Arreola (Kathy Gray), Arreola de la Fuente, and Samuel
Arreola, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he dearly
loved, and the mother of his children, Kathy Silardi.
He was preceded in death by his sister Linna Burgess, and his parents
Daniel and Lenore Arreola.
Pete spent most of his working life with the Forest Service in the Hiawatha
National Forest, loved living in Rapid River before he retired and moved to
Arizona, where he lived with two of his children and his grandson, along
with his cherished German Shepherd, Amelia, a Great Dane, Calypso, and
three black cats, Binx, Myst, and Tink. He has said these last few years
have been the best years, no matter how chaotic, and loved Zooming with
his family. Pete was always larger than life, filled with boisterous
enthusiasm, and an ever present sense of humor - the sound of his
infectious laughter filled many hearts. He will be greatly missed by
everyone who knew him.
The immediate family wishes for privacy at this time, but will arrange a
memorial in Michigan in the new year. In lieu of flowers and cards please
donate to the ASPCA, Verde Valley Medical Center, or the VA in his honor.
