Patricia Ann (Roessing) Sheldon

Patricia Ann “Pat” (Roessing) Sheldon passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on March 30, 2025, in Prescott Valley, Arizona. Pat was born on May 9, 1945, in San Marcos, Texas, to Hilmar and Elsie (Vorheier) Roessing. During her childhood, her family moved to California to be closer to relatives, and a few years later, in 1960, they relocated to Worland, Wyoming. Pat graduated with honors from Worland High School in 1963. After graduation, she moved to Casper, Wyoming, where she began her career with the Small Business Administration before transferring to the U.S. Postal Service, where she worked until her retirement in 1993.

In 1967, Pat married Martin Sheldon in Casper, Wyoming. They had two sons, Matthew Scott, born in 1972, and Christopher Paul, born in 1974. Pat and Martin later divorced.

Throughout her career at the U.S. Postal Service, motivated by her desire to broaden her experiences, Pat moved to Colorado, New Mexico, and finally to Arizona. She cherished traveling with her children and companions. After retiring, she and her partner enjoyed traveling around the country in an RV. Eventually, she moved back to Wyoming to care for her mother, who was battling cancer. Following her mother's passing, Pat returned to Arizona to be near her sons.

Pat was a caring person with a soft heart. She was a devoted daughter and cherished the time spent caring for her mother in her final years. As a dedicated mother, she made sacrifices to raise her children as a single parent. Pat had a deep love for animals and always shared her home with one or two dogs. She was a member of the Open-Door Baptist Church in Prescott Valley where she loved to hear the Word of God and worship Him.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Rusty, Stanley, Gene, and Charlie Roessing. Survivors include her two sons, Matt (Stacy) Sheldon of Flagstaff, Arizona and Chris (Rachel) Sheldon of Humboldt, Arizona; granddaughter, Ginna Hays (Marty) of Peoria, Arizona, four great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Roessing of Worland; sisters, Corene Willoughby of Orlando, Florida, Betty Aksamit of Casper, Wyoming, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Inurnment will be at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Worland, Wyoming with a small, private service at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Bueler Funeral Home in Camp Verde, Arizona and Bryant Funeral Home in Worland, Wyoming.
