Marilou Scarbrough Obituary

Marilou was born at the Bement Homestead House on October 18, 1936, to Vern and Marian Houser in Redvale, Colorado. The Houser family lived in Placerville for a short time before moving to Norwood, Colorado. Marilou attended school in both towns and graduated from Norwood High School. Marilou was working at the Lone Cone Restaurant as a waitress when she met her husband, Robert Scarbrough. After a short courtship, they married in 1954. Marilou worked at the San Miguel Trading Post in Uravan for over 20 years. The Scarbrough family then moved to Arizona, where she worked in the Walmart jewelry department for many years before retiring.

Marilou always had a love for God, her family, and her church. She taught her two sons to love the Lord and to respect others. Marilou enjoyed the pleasure of many close friendships and had a lot of fun going out to lunch with friends in her later years. She loved to read and enjoyed following what everyone was doing on Facebook, always having to include multiple emojis with her responses. Marilou was able to live in her own home, especially enjoying working in her yard, until the end of her life.

Marilou passed on October 17, 2024, in Prescott, Arizona, from complications after surgery and will be dearly missed. She is in a much better place now, reunited with her husband Bob and her Lord. Marilou's husband, Robert Scarbrough, passed July 20, 2020, she and he left behind, two sons and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
