Larry B. King, 83, a former resident of Desher, OH, went to be with the Lord
January 7, 2024, in Cottonwood, AZ. Larry was born Sept. 8, 1940, to the late Bernard
and Maxine King also of Deshler. Larry leaves behind his lovely and devoted wife
Shirley (White) of 65 years. The couple have four children: Cindy Nester (Tom)
Clarkdale, AZ, Robin Dauman of Albuquerque, N.M., Tony King also of Albuquerque,
and the late Sonja Marchetti. He was “Poppy” to 9 grandchildren and 13 great
grandchildren. Sisters are Diane Zeisloft, Columbus Grove, OH and Jan Hefflinger of
Chandler, AZ.
Larry retired from Smiths Foods as a truck driver in Peoria, AZ. Larry began his
career as a lineman working for Ohio Power then relocating in 1976 to Albuquerque,
N.M., being employed with Albuquerque Public Service.
Larry was a volunteer fireman, former member of Masonic Lodge, Lions Club,
and a past president of the PTO at Deshler School. Larry never knew a stranger and
would start conversations with “Where are you from?”! He loved visiting coffee shops!
He started his own men’s coffee group when the couple resided in Sun City, AZ.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 17 at 12 p.m. at the VFW
