Julia Margaret Izzo (née Bennett), 98, of Prescott Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026, to be with her Savior. She was born on April 16, 1927, in Seneca Falls, New York, to Charles Clifford Bennett (D) and Mary Helen Bennett (D).
Known affectionately as Judy to many, Julia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend. She married her childhood sweetheart, Gabriel Louis Izzo "Sr", during World War II. Together they raised five children: Angeline Marie Schilling (Raymond Harrold,D), Gabriel Louis “Jr.” Izzo (Geraldine Kay,D), Robert Eugene (Kathleen Marie) Izzo, Michael David (Marna) Izzo, and Sandra Darlene (Gareld Lyndal) Hardy.
Julia is survived by 3 siblings, her five children, 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and approximately 24 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 siblings and her beloved husband of many years, Gabriel Louis Izzo Sr (D).
The family moved from Indiana to Flagstaff, Arizona, in 1961, and later settled in Camp Verde in 1974. After the passing of her husband in 2010, Julia moved to Prescott Valley. She worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. After retiring, she became very active in her church and volunteered with several organizations.
Julia had a great passion for everything John Wayne, enjoyed visiting casinos during her travels, and above all else, cherished spending time with her family. She was a loving, caring, kind, and hardworking woman who lived life with a beautiful smile. She came very close to her goal of reaching 100 — just 18 days shy of her 99th birthday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ’s Church of Prescott Valley, 4901 N. Wagon Way, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.
Julia will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched with her warmth, strength, and love.
