Judith Baumeister Obituary

Judith "Judy" Baumeister, passed away on June 11, 2025, in Camp Verde, Arizona. Born on February 18, 1940, in Glassport, Pennsylvania, Judy lived a life defined by creativity, passion, and an unwavering dedication to the arts and animals.

Judy's early years were marked by her extraordinary talent and discipline as a professional ballet dancer and choreographer. Her love for dance led her to become the owner of The Oklahoma School of Fine Arts and the Artistic Director for the Ballet Guild of Oklahoma. Through these roles, she inspired countless students and contributed significantly to the cultural landscape of Oklahoma.

Her deep connection with animals was another defining thread throughout her life. Embracing her passion for horses, Judy became a certified Dressage Instructor and established The Flying B Ranch and Winners Circle Tack Shop in Oklahoma City. Her commitment to excellence in equestrian arts reflected the same grace and precision that had characterized her ballet career.

Later in life, Judy turned her lifelong love of dogs into a new chapter of purpose. She trained and showed several breeds before founding Animal Lovers LLC and The Stolen Hearts Canine Academy in Camp Verde, Arizona. Her work with dogs brought joy not only to her but also to those who benefited from her expertise and care.

Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Carl Baumeister, and her son George Pilgrim. Their lives were enriched by her strength, creativity, and enduring love.

In remembrance of Judy’s compassion for animals and commitment to their well-being, memorial contributions may be made to the Baker Institute for Animal Health. Please include “Evans/gastric cancer research” in the memo line. Donations can be mailed to:

Judy’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched—on stage, in the saddle ring, at training fields—and through those who carry forward her passions. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
