Jeri Anne McLaren, 68, of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. A beloved sister, partner, aunt, reverend, healer, and friend, Jeri lived her life in deep service to others, led by compassion, love, and a radiant spirit that uplifted everyone she met.
Born to James and Dorothy McLaren, Jeri was deeply rooted in care and empathy from a young age. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and devoted her professional life to helping others as a social worker, activities director, adult day care coordinator, and life enrichment director. Later, she expanded her path of service as a Reverend with the Center of Universal Light, a spiritual counselor, and a Reiki Master—bringing emotional and spiritual healing to many.
Helping people and loving people wasn’t just her passion—it was her life’s mission. Jeri’s approach to each day was grounded in one of her favorite affirmations:
“The purpose of your life is to serve in a way that brings great joy to yourself and others. Don’t worry about finding your purpose. Instead, focus upon serving a purpose, and then your purpose will serve you.”
Jeri is survived by her brother, Tony McLaren; his loving partner, Kristine McKenzie of Veneta, Oregon; her nephew, Zach McLaren, his wife Madeline, and their son Maverick of Elmira, Oregon; her nephew, Cody Moore of Eugene, Oregon; her nieces, Myckenzi Moore of Greenville, South Carolina, and Stephanie Boak of Veneta, Oregon; and her cousin, Carrie McLaren and her husband, Jeff Dannen of Harrisburg, South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her father, James McLaren; her mother, Dorothy McLaren; and her sister, Teresa Berry (McLaren).
Jeri's legacy is one of love, spiritual guidance, and a tireless devotion to the well-being of others. She reminded those around her that joy is found in service and that the heart’s greatest power lies in connection. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A private family memorial service will be planned at a later date to honor her remarkable life.
