James Kukuczka, of Waseca, Minnesota, age 79, passed away on May 6, 2026, in Arizona with his brother, Marty, at his side.
“Jimmy” was the third of 14 children born to George and Alice (Haley) Kukuczka on December 13, 1946. He served in the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He later worked for Jack Johnson at J & J Auto Crushing, where he learned the trade. He went on to start and operate “Kuskie’s Salvage” near the family farm in rural Janesville, Minnesota.
He is survived by his daughter, Kendra of Brainerd, MN; and his siblings: Philip Kukuczka of Waseca, MN; Kathy Gardner of Medford, MN; Mary Broughten of Henning, MN; Noreen Kukuczka of Sarasota, FL; Leona Kukuczka of Waseca, MN; Diane (Dave) Brady of Prairieville, LA; and Marty (Jen) Kukuczka of Goodyear, AZ.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Ron, Jerry, Winnie, Bob, Duane, and Lucy.
An informal gathering of Jimmy's family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 from 1:00-4:00pm at VFW Post #1642, 113 Elm Ave W, Waseca, Minnesota 56093 and will include food and beverages.
