James Edward (Jim) Goodwin, went to be with Jesus, March 8, 2026, in Prescott Valley, Arizona, at the age of 88.
He was born in Dodge City, Kansas, January 30, 1938, to James Goodwin and Betty Wingert.
Jim joined the Army right out of High School and worked hard his entire life providing for his family as a master mechanic and motorcycle
mechanic. He was tough as nails with a hearty laugh. In his younger days he worked on a dairy farm,
in the oil field, and large farm equipment before opening his business "Jim's Auto & Speed Shop"
in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Later in life, was employed by various car dealerships in Kansas, California and Arizona.
He was a devoted father and adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
When he was racing cars, he took his four kids to the drag races so they could watch and
cheer him on, they all thought he was bulletproof. His passion was motorcycles, he owned
more than 20 over the years. He was larger than life, devouring each moment as if it were his last.
His knowledge of cars and motorcycles made him an expert in the field, he would educate
anyone who was willing to listen. Jim was an avid animal lover who rescued many dogs
from shelters and donated money to them over the years.
