Gertrude Francis (Sanchez) Smith

Gertrude Smith, 61, of Middle Verde, AZ., passed away on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024. She was born in Cottonwood, AZ, on July 26th, 1963, to her late mother, Lorraine H. Sanchez. Gertie is one of three siblings. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and family members. She loved her job as the Yavapai Culture Manager. She would say she was a strong Yavapai woman.

Gertie is survived by her children Lonnie Jr., Tova, Momo, and Lena; grandchildren Rain, Lenny, and Sparrow; great-grandchildren Henry and Jaxx; brothers Fred and Tony; and sister Bunka. She will be buried in Middle Verde Cemetery.
