George Grenier, Jr. Obituary

George J. Grenier Jr , 86 of Camp Verde, Arizona passed away on April 18th, 2023 after a series of health issues.  He was born on September 8th, 1936 in Malden, Massachusetts to the late George and Mae Grenier. After graduating from Hartford High School he joined the US Air Force. Upon completing his military service he would marry Rose Marie Tromley and they would raise their 5 children in and around the Hartford, CT area. He was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years with Wooster Express and later in his life would work for Avis car rental.

George loved spending time in New Hampshire, especially the White Mountains. He would bring his children there when they were young for family vacations and later take some of his grandchildren there as well. He enjoyed camping in his younger days and his campsite would be a place for family to gather together and spend time. He was a lover of the beach and the sight of beautiful lighthouses. He loved to play cards and enjoyed model trains and traveling, recently enjoying a wonderful cruise with his partner Pat. He was a man who struggled with the right things to say at times, but ultimately loved those he held dear to him. He leaves behind shoes that as a partner, father, grandfather, and friend will be unfillable.

Left to mourn his passing and remember him always are his partner of many years, Pat Behr and his best buddy, his dog Daniel. His children Kathy Parizo and her husband Perry of South Windsor, CT, George J. Grenier III of Enfield, CT, Scott Grenier and his wife Sandy of Coventry, CT and Jeanne Marie Baker and her husband Steve of Mansfield, CT. Grandchildren Ginger, Casey, Nicole, Jessica, John Jr., Sarah, Mitchell, Emily, Jordan, Tommy, Kyle and Maddie as well as 8 great grandchildren and other special people whose life he touched. Along with his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother Robert, and his son John.

Burial and a Gathering of Remembrance will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
