Eleanor Louise Hoffmann, formerly of Orchard Park, New York, passed away on October 11, 2022 at the home of her daughter Linda in Camp Verde, Arizona. Eleanor was a beloved mother of four and the grandmother of eighteen. She was born in Bangor, Maine to Wilmer and Mildred Elliott on October 14, 1923. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Jacqueline, her husband Robert Edgington, her second husband William Hoffmann, her daughter Stephanie (Donald) Johnson, and her niece Samantha. Eleanor is survived by her daughter Linda Harkness of Camp Verde, Arizona, and her son Jon Edgington (Mary) of Cooperstown, New York.
Eleanor graduated from Nasson College in Maine where she majored in business studies. She married Robert Edgington in 1946 and moved to Findlay, Ohio. She moved with her four children and second husband William Hoffmann to the Buffalo, New York area in 1964. She taught high school business classes at Frontier High School for many years with much success.
Eleanor spent summers at her family's camp in Maine while growing up and was an accomplished skier. She was an avid reader, a Buffalo Bills fan, expert bridge player, knitter, YMCA member and an enthusiastic and very involved mother and grandmother. She implemented water aerobics and bridge get-togethers at the Stepping Stone Community in Orchard Park, New York, where she spent twenty-eight happy years.
Eleanor was a source of great joy to her many friends, acquaintances and entire family.
A Celebration of Eleanor's Life will be held at a later date.
