Dorothy Meckem, born August 21, 1925, passed from this life on May 2, 2013 at the Haven Care and Rehab Center in Camp Verde, Arizona.
Dorothy was born August 21, 1925 in Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Dorothy's parents moved to Arizona when she was young and Dorothy graduated from Mingus Union High School in Cottonwood, Arizona she then worked at the Soda Springs Dude Ranch in Rimrock, Arizona where she met and married Ed Meckem in 1945. Dorothy and Ed moved to Alaska in 1963 and returned to Arizona in 1971.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Ed and her brother Cliff Jergins. She is survived by her brother Jim Jergins, her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Tina Meckem of Camp Verde, daughter and son-in-law Patricia and Dan Brotzler of Minnesota and daughter Christina Vess of Camp Verde, 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Dorothy's Memorial Service will be held at VFW Post 6739, 277 W. Hwy 260, Camp Verde on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 1 PM.
