On January 1, 2024, David Elvin Boots died at his home after a prolonged illness.
He was born March 14, 1951 in Sacramento, California to the late Elvin and Claire Boots. He is survived by his beloved sister, Judith James.
David graduated from CK McClatchy High School and attended Sacramento City College. He worked in the construction industry as a consultant and estimator in Virginia Beach, Dallas, and Denver. He loved the desert and chose to make his home in Arizona. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and was an avid gun collector, hunter, and target shooter.
Most importantly, David was a devoted member of a 12-step recovery program and shared his more than 36 years of experience, strength and hope generously with his fellow recovering addicts. His love and guidance made him a treasured member of the program in three states, and he will be sorely missed.
A Celebration of His Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in David's name to the Verde Valley Humane Society, so that they can continue rescuing the dogs David so dearly loved. VVHS, 1520 W. Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, AZ 86326 https://verdevalleyhumane.org/donate
