Dale Tennen McCoy, 86, of Cottonwood Arizona returned to his Heavenly Home
on Friday, September 12, 2024. Dale was born on August 19, 1938, as the
firstborn child of Carma and Edward James Tennen McCoy in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Dale attended Flagstaff Public Schools and graduated from Flagstaff High School
in 1956. He attended Arizona State College in Flagstaff and later served in the
United States Army, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, North Carolina from
1962-1964. During his lifetime – he worked as a paper boy, drug store clerk,
Lumberjack for Southwest Forest Industries, and as a custodian for the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Only one love of Dale’s was greater than the love he had for his daughter, Brenda,
and that was the love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated
and devoted member of The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints his
entire life, having served as a Ward Clerk for over 50 years. He was a spiritual
giant among his family, friends, and associates. His testimony of the Savior and
the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ never wavered, even through the many trials
of life he encountered.
Dale is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Brenda Lynn, and his sister
Catherine Louise McCoy. He is survived by his sisters: Marsha Lee Merwin (John)
of Prescott, Arizona, Carma Elaine Henderson (Keith) of Clinton, Utah, and
Marjorie Ann Fluty of Mesa, Arizona, and a brother Jerry Edward McCoy (Janet)
of Des Moines, Iowa. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces and
nephews.
