Cornell John Bickis, Jr.
January 20, 1947 – February 1, 2025
Cornell John Bickis Jr. of Rimrock, Arizona, passed away on February 1, 2025, shortly after his 78th birthday, after a long battle with kidney disease. Cornell, known to his family and friends as Jon, was born on January 20, 1947, to his parents, Betty and Cornell John Bickis Sr., in Massillon, Ohio.
Jon’s obituary barely captures the chronology of his life or the spirit, values, and relationships that define him.
Jon attended Massillon Washington High School, graduating in 1965. He attended Columbus Business College for one year and finished his fourth year at Kent State University, where he was president of the Phi Delta Psi fraternity. Jon managed several department stores and became a real estate broker in Gatlinburg, TN. He then moved to Sedona, Arizona, to retire with his wife of 50+ years, Joan Healing Wolf, where they raised and provided loving care for wolves in their wolf sanctuary in Rimrock, Arizona.
Jon loved his family and was always there for them. He was an unselfish and loving husband and generous with his time and resources, often anonymously helping children and others in need. Jon loved fishing and made football, golfing, and acting his leisure pastimes.
Jon was preceded in death by his father and mother, Cornell Sr. and Betty Bickis, and nephew Robert Bickis Jr. He is survived by his wife, Joan Bickis; his brother, Robert (Donna) Bickis Sr.; his daughter, Lisa; his niece, Wendy (Jr) Coalson; and cousins, George (Sharon) Bickis and Annette (Daniel) Corpe.
