Charles Mansfield passed from this earth June 24, 2023. He was born to Floyd and Hazel Mansfield on July 24, 1938 in Eureka, Kansas. He graduated from high school at Osborne, Kansas and attended Kansas State University for two years. He worked for the Kansas Highway Department for seven years. He served six years in the Kansas National Guard. He moved to Arizona in May1966 where had employment with the Arizona Department of Transportation as a Engineering Technician. In 1968 he married Donna Locke in El Dorado, Kansas. He worked for ADOT in Prescott, Kingman and Tucson. In 1999 he retired after 33 years from ADOT then was employed by HDR Engineering and URS Engineering. In 2001 Charles and Donna moved to Cottonwood where they resided until his death. He is survived by his wife Donna, one son Lance in Tucson and a daughter Holly Ball in Chandler and a sister Marie in Durango, Colorado. Charles and Donna attended Mountain View United Methodist Church. His ashes will be spread over the Kansas grasslands which he so dearly loved. In place of flowers he requested any moneys should be given to the food pantry of Mountain View United Methodist Church.
