Catalina Garcia De Loza
December 26, 1939 - March 21, 2026
Catalina Garcia De Loza, 86, of Cottonwood, AZ, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026.
She was born in México City, México on December 26, 1939, and lived a life marked by deep faith, boundless love, and an unwavering devotion to her family.
Catalina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pedro De Loza; her parents, Jesús Garcia Naranjo and Maria de la Luz Gonzalez Aguilar; sisters Josefina, Enriqueta, and Yolanda; and her brother, Jesús.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna De Loza and husband David Zuniga, and Angelica and husband Ralph Ordoñez; her son, Peter, and wife Mandi De Loza; her five cherished grandchildren, Teresa, Catherine, Gabrial, Aidan, and Sophia; her sister, Maria Garcia; her brother, Abundio Garcia; brothers-in-law Gerry Lohr and Agustin Rodriguez; and a large, loving family of nieces and nephews who were blessed to call her their own.
Her greatest passion was her family. A gifted seamstress, Catalina used her hands to serve and love those around her-sewing clothes, making costumes, or crocheting unique pieces, baby clothes, and blankets. When she wasn't creating with needle and thread, she could often be found tending her garden, nurturing life with the same quiet care and intention she brought to everything she touched. Together with her late husband Pedro, she poured herself into her community -hosting benefit events and dances to support neighbors facing hardship, embodying a generosity that was quiet, consistent, and deeply rooted in their faith.
Catalina took great pride in being a loving and loyal wife and mother, and made it a point to be present for the earliest days of each of her grandchildren's lives - arriving to help, to nurture, and to love in the most hands-on and selfless ways. Her bond with each grandchild was close, distinct, and irreplaceable. She was a woman who cooked with love, prayed without ceasing, and made every person in her presence feel treasured.
A woman of immense and unshakable faith, Catalina's prayers covered her children, her grandchildren, and all who were fortunate enough to be loved by her. Her presence was a gift.
Her legacy is the family she devoted her entire life to building.
"Her children arise and call her blessed." - Proverbs 31:28
