Calvin Barr of Camp Verde, Az, passed away on March 13th, 2026.
He was born in Rimersburg, Pa on October 18th, 1926 to the late John L. Barr Sr. and Pansy (Hilliard) Barr.
Calvin was drafted into the Army while in High School during World War II in 1945. He took his Army basic training at Camp
Blanding, Florida. He was transported on the USS Bollinger, a troop transport ship, to the South Pacific. After the war, he finished High
School and moved west, initially settling in Flagstaff, Arizona where he met and married Karen J. Winn on March 20th, 1960.. Calvin
worked as a window glazer and volunteer Flagstaff firefighter until it was a paid job, retiring after 23 years as Captain of the
Flagstaff fire department.
He moved to the Verde Valley in 1964, commuting for work.
He raised his children and spent the rest of his life in Camp Verde, Arizona. Calvin was a member of the Bahai Faith for 69 years.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife, Karen J. Barr, they were married for 59 years; 1 brother John L. Barr Jr. (Jack); 2
sisters Leanore Elder Dunlap and Dolores Barger.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Carol (Les) Kodlick of Montana; Tammy (John) Montgomery of Ohio; 1 son Barton (Joe) Barr
of Arizona; 2 granddaughters, Lindsay and Hillary Montgomery of Ohio.

The Relief fund provides aid, assistance, relief, and comfort of needy or disabled veterans or members of the Armed Forces and their dependents, and the surviving spouses and orphans of deceased veterans.
