Bruce Harvey Selden passed on August 18, 2023 in Cottonwood, AZ and is pleased to be with our Lord & Savior. Bruce was born on November 26,1932 in Rome, NY to Harvey and Margaret Selden.
Bruce moved to Florida in 1943 and attended Miami Senior High, and enjoyed being on the track team. He planned on becoming an architect and won an award from Ford Motor Company for submitting a complete set of drawings for a ranch type home. He joined the Navy Air Corps after graduating from high school in 1955, and met his wife Beverly while stationed in Jacksonville, FL. They moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1960 where Bruce went to work for the City of Phoenix as a computer supervisor. He retired after 31 years, moved to Cottonwood in 2010 where he & Beverly enjoyed retirement and their 60+ years together.
Bruce loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and bringing up their three children Debbie, David and Deanna and seeing them develop their adult lives and families. His daughter, Debbie, gave them two grandchildren, Jenni and Katie. Bruce loved his Lord, Jesus Christ, and spent 30+ years reaching out to strangers.
Bruce is survived by his three children: Debbie (Mike), David, and Deanna (Matt); his two grandchildren: Jenni (Russ) and Katie (Kassie); and one great-grandchild: Nolan.
A celebration of his life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 2021 E Fir St in Cottonwood, AZ on Friday, October 20 at 11:00 AM. There will also be a graveside service at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, October 23 at 10:30 AM. Memorial contributions can be made to Northern Arizona Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
