Janice Loring Stone

Janice Loring Stone, 72, of Cottonwood, Arizona, passed away March 5th at home with family at her side.

Janice was born November 27, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Mildred (Erickson) Stone. She retired from Lincolnshire Illinois School District # 103. She was a school bus driver for over 20 years. The children brought a lot of love into her life and she spoke of them often. She enjoyed coaching softball, and crocheting for her loved ones. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking, and making baked goods for the Christian Care pot lucks, where she previously resided with friends. She was a Chicago Bears fan, and always had a wonderful time at the Diamond Backs baseball games. Most important was her love of Nascar, and Jeff Gordon #24.

She gave unselfishly of herself by volunteering at different organizations in the Verde Valley such as, Meals on Wheels, Verde Valley Care Givers and the V.F W. She was a proud lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W. Ganville Morris Auxiliary # 6739.

She is survived by her three sons, Michael (Lynn) Thompson of Raleigh, NC, Brian Thompson of Cottonwood, AZ, Matt (Neila) Thompson of Brookfield, CT. Five grandchildren, five brothers, and one sister.

A Memorium for Janice will be held this summer with family, in Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society.

Gone too soon. You knew me my entire life. We shared our childhood memories and although we often had different perspectives we had this bond. You are missed. Rest in peace. Love you! Sandy
