Vance Beck Jr.

Vance Beck Jr., 93, peacefully passed away September 5, 2013 at Riverton Hospital in Riverton, Utah. He was born on February 8, 1920 in Diamond, Missouri to Loren Vance Beck and Omah Carr Beck.
Vance spent his childhood in Missouri until 1938 when his family moved to Idaho. He honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II in New Guinea for 42 months.
On November 10, 1945, Vance married Mildred Andra in Ogden, Utah. They made their home in Nampa, Idaho where they raised their three children. In 1981, Vance retired as a telephone repairman from Mountain Bell after 40+ years of dedicated service. In 1982, they moved and retired in Camp Verde, Arizona.
In addition to being a World War II veteran, Vance belonged to the Nampa Bowling Association, was a life member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sedona Arizona BPOE Elks Club, Good Sam’s Club and the Second Chance Good Sam’s Club.
Vance loved dancing, hunting, fishing, boating, and playing cards. He enjoyed traveling the country to visit family and friends everywhere. Family and friends meant everything to him. He was a great husband and father.
He is survived by two sons, Gary(Shelia) and Ken(Maxine) and one daughter, Marlene Roberts(Jeff); 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him and the great legacy he left behind. He was able to find the good in everyone he met and encountered in his life.
Viewing will be held September 13, 2013 at the Bueler Funeral Home from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. A grave side service will follow viewing and Vance will be laid to rest next to his wife at the Clear Creek Cemetery in Camp Verde, Arizona.
